Allergy from Hell

New photo from my night out on 7/22/10

For the last 7 days I have suffered an allergy which completely resembled a severe flu.  I woke up one morning with a sore throat, cough, fever, chills, body aches, and a film over my eyes which kept me from seeing.  It has been absolutely horrible.  I finally went to the doctor and she informed me without reservation that what I have is an allergy.  Amazing!  I actually felt sad that it wasn’t the flu as I can easily get over a sickness, but an allergy is something that I am stuck with until the source is gone.

I ask you, my wonderful fans, if you have ever suffered from a similar reaction and what may have been the cause.  I have no idea what could have brought about my reaction other than flowers or sweepings from the balcony.  I figure it must be something new, and those were the only things of significance introduced the day before my symptoms began.  Thanks for helping!

Thank you, Ky! I’d like to say that it is getting better, but no. In time I am sure it will either go away or I will just ignore it. Expect a lot of complaining until then, though!

Oh allergies suck! I remember when I found out the hard way I am allergic to shellfish! One night a few friends decided to have a cook out with some shrimp on the barbie. While that shrimp was good, I kept having to clear my throat, and it just felt weird. My lips started to swell, and then I realized my throat was closing up! I ended up taking a bunch of Benadryl, and eating ice. Lucky for me it wasn’t a severe reaction, but I will never forget it. Hopefully yours will ease up, and you start to feel better. Can’t wait for your book!

Ooooh – that’s one of the bad ones. I know quite a few people whom have a deadly allergy to shellfish. I am glad that you are okay! Thankfully, my allergy isn’t quite that fatal – just really, really annoying. It is bad enough feeling as though I have the flu, but to know that it will not go away until I can find the source makes it truly unbearable!

Go to http://www.poto.com and ask The Procurer – Mr Peter Gascon for his opinion. Peter has a phenomenal knowledge and experience in herbal and natural remedies. He may not have an absolute cure BUT perhaps a tea which will at least calm down the symptoms.
For me it is Cedar Pollen and a high Mold count that brings all of that on.

Great! Thanks for the input. As it turns out, there is both cedar and mold present in my apartment and both are new to my environment. I’ll check out the site you recommended and suggest anyone else suffering from allergies do the same!
