Not All Muslims are Terrorists!

Is this a good fishing outfit?

I just finished watching a wonderful movie entitled, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, wherein an adventurous sheik hires English specialists to create a salmon fishery in his country for recreational angling (  To my joy the Yemeni were not portrayed as blood-thirsty terrorists out to destroy all things Christian and/or American.  It is shameful how we are stereotyped so quickly, isn’t it?  Not all Jewish people are greedy.  Not all Italians are mobsters.  Not all Irishmen are drunkards.  Not all Serbians are genocidal maniacs.  Not all Chinese are masters of Kung Fu (I got that one a lot when I was a kid…and I’m not even Chinese!).  Why not try seeing people as just people?

I have always found movies centered upon the Islamic culture both fascinating and enlightening – I just wish there were more Hollywood hits which cast the Muslim people in a positive hue.  It is for this reason I love films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Hidalgo, Kingdom of Heaven, and Body of Lies, – not all the characters are good, but they are certainly not all bad.

I am sick of hatred and all the misery and bloodshed it brings.  I’ve had my fill of hearing people say “death to all Americans”, “death to all Muslims”, “death to all Russians”, “death to all Chechens” and so on.  Don’t misunderstand me – I am not against the war on terrorism as any group or nation which targets innocent civilians must be stopped.  But to label all the people of Islam as terrorists is both blind and ignorant.  I will not abide anyone who utters that the Middle East must be turned into a “glass parking lot” or any variation thereof.  Let us never forget that we are all God’s children – no exception – and though our beliefs may differ we are all climbing the same mountain.  Whether we decide to be good or evil is our choice and our choice alone.

Amazing! This blog looks exactly like my old one!
It’s on a totally different topic but it has pretty much the same page layout and design. Wonderful choice of colors!

For what it’s worth, Nikki, although homosexuality and anal intercourse are forbidden in Islam (just like they are in Christianity and Judaism as clearly stated in even today’s modern Bible), that does not mean that all Muslims abide by all Islamic commandments (again just like Christians and Jews), and you actually do have one Muslim fan, a straight one even, who finds you, all of you, so irresistible and beautiful inside out. In another world or under different circumstances, I would have even tried to meet you in person!

And don’t get me wrong; I do not refuse or argue with God’s commandments in three major religions; I simply acknowledge my weaknesses as a human being, and differentiate between rationally judging an act or deed as wrong, and passionately hating or demonizing a person, another human being, for their weaknesses or the choices they make based on their assumptions and understanding of life. In other words, there is a difference between the sin, and the sinner, between a deed and a person; and lots of people don’t have the knowledge, understanding, or will to even accept that there is use for such labels. Regardless, the interesting thing here is that I accept that anal intercourse is wrong or a sin, at least based on God’s commandments in three major religions; but I also accept that I’ve had my fantasies of making love to you that way, both ways, a few times. For me, it’s nothing to feel overly negative about, nor is it something to be proud of; for me, it simply is, and I accept it for now. And I still see you as irresistible.

Can a person know that something is wrong, yet still want to do it and keep doing it? Of course, ask most smokers or alcoholics or drug addicts. Is a Muslim a person like atheists and Americans? Haha! Can a Muslim know that something is sinful, yet still want to do it and keep doing it? You bet. And when he or she gets really fucked up in the head, he finds the guilty pleasure delicious…at least until they repent. Hehe!

    That’s life for you, Nikki.

And yes, God is merciful. It doesn’t mean that we can take that for granted; actually that’s one of the first things that compromise the earning of mercy. But knowing that, being aware that God really is merciful helps us forgive ourselves…and others. Helps us remember to not demonize others, just like we wouldn’t demonize ourselves.

Thank you for writing this article, Nikki. And remember…if we meet in another world or in dreams, please make love to me. Hugs and kisses.
