A Photo Shoot with Nikki

I’ve had a lot of fans ask if they could attend a photo shoot just to see what it is like.  I can say in all honesty that it is pretty boring.  First of all, there is no studio except on very rare occasions.  Only once in a great while do I have the chance to take pictures where there are backdrops and actual lighting, which is the case with all the photos I plan to sell.  Otherwise, I take my pictures on-location (like in the hood) or at a hotel.

Second, wherever I take my photos you can count on there being a lot of lights, a lot of bags (my clothes), and plenty of camera equipment.  Getting around the “set” is not easy.  If you aren’t careful you’ll trip and really hurt yourself.  It doesn’t make things easier if you are wearing 6″ heels!

Third, I tend to move very fast, so when the camera starts clicking away I am in one pose and then another within seconds.  We give each outfit roughly 20 to 30 frames and I am off to to change into something new.  After I get my clothes straight, I spend about 5 minutes facing the mirror and fixing little imperfections in my makeup.  This is typically done with translucent powder and a big brush for my cheeks and a smaller brush for my lips, nose, and under my eyes.  Rarely, if ever, do I mess with my eyeshadow or lipstick.  My hair is usually okay unless we are shooting outside and it is humid.  Nothing is worse for my hair and/or makeup than humidity.

Forth, it is either really hot or really cold wherever I shoot, so it is helpful to have a jacket handy…or a pair of shorts.  This is because I am small and get hot or cold easily, so I mess with the thermostat constantly.

Fifth, there are the breaks – of which there are plenty.  Contrary to popular speculation, posing for the camera is not as easy as it looks.  Your body is typically twisted in unnatural positions and managing a smile or sexy look is not easy to maintain.  You don’t really feel sexy, nor are you overly happy, so that hot look you see in my pictures is only there because I am imaging something extremely erotic (like giving someone a long, sloppy blow job, or getting pounded from behind while eating out a gorgeous girl).  During my breaks anything goes.  Whatever it takes to keep me in a sexy mood.  Typically, I keep a porn movie playing playing on the TV as well as my favorite sex song blaring on the stereo so that when I take my break I can sit down and enjoy the sights and sounds to encourage better poses.

Finally, there is the wrap.  When we have concluded that I am spent and have nothing left to offer to the camera, we pack it up and call it a night.  The clothes go back into the bag, the makeup is secured and stored, and the camera equipment and lights are put safely away until the next time.  My photographer, assistant (if any) and I sit and talk for a while, then go home.

Okay, bear in mind that my photos are very simple and amateurish, so imagine what it would be like if my shoots were more professionally-oriented?  Things would be a lot more complicated and probably much more stressful.  To me, that doesn’t sound like a lot of fun.  For the time being, I’ll be happy keep my little photo events just as they are!!!
